I ask for your vote on Tuesday

I'm tired of my taxes going up because of the constant litigation Winchester faces because boards cherry-pick which rules and procedures they wish to follow. Why are we paying for a town counselor whose advice is too often selectively followed by boards, resulting in the town ending up in court? That's not a win for Winchester and those costs get passed on to taxpayers.
Why is our Select board advising to remove the checks and balances for the town by advocating the removal of the Budget committee? If you don't like someone on a board, don't vote for them next time. Why are we paying for a town administrator who is unable to keep her biases in check? Doesn't she work for the entire town? Why are town ambulance services used privately by a member of the Board of Selectmen that involves driving their family member to another faraway state? And more importantly, why is this kept a secret from the public and news reporters. Apparently a closed mouth policy protects our Selectmen from their misbehavior and wrongdoings—and keeps us in the dark about how much it costs Winchester.
For these reasons, and many others, I have decided to run as a write-in candidate for the Winchester Selectman's Board. Let's get Winchester on a more positive track. I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday, March 13th.

Starting off your campaign with less then the truth is not a good way to go. Miss Bellan you do not own any property or pay Taxes. I have nothing against you but that false statement is not what I want to hear from someone running for select board.

now Jen, As a moderator of this site I know you will not post this but are you crazy? You couldnt even make the planning board last year and now selectboard is in your sights? As we have all told mike Towne every time he has run NO THANK YOU. Anybody who uses this blog to promote their political run is doomed. If you feel so strongly about your views start attaching your name to them instead of using the Winchester Informer title.

Well I see that two stooges have come forth ans posted their negative comments as expected, question to them , why don't you have the guts to come out from behind your computers and do something for the town besides run your mouths?

Ms. Bellan is not a moderator of this blog, nor does she have anything to do with it at all. Your comments Ed are so far fetched it borders on being funny. As for Mr. Towne, do you think for one minute he cares what you have to say about him? At least he came forward and put himself on the ballot in the past in an attempt to implement changes that would have benefited all of us. He's also volunteered his services to the town several times and has been turned away, not because he is not qualified, but because of personal agendas on our select board. That people continue to vote for the very ones behind all of our problems in this town continues to baffle the senses.
Why is it that every time someone new attempts to offer their services and dedication to the town, people like you and several others start running your mouths and attempt to slander them?

Geez, "Anonymouse"...

I don't own land property, but I pay rent. My rent goes up every time the property taxes go up. Like everyone else in town, I pay to register my car, register my dog, user fees for the dump/water/sewer, and a boat load of other "fees." You do know those are recessive taxes, right?

And, the Informer is correct--I am not a moderator of this blog (my posts have to be approved by the blog author).

just because you comment on this blog does not qualify you as a tax payer in Winchester.

So we should vote for Jenn when she cant even get her act together and get on the ballot? We don't need another wanna bee. Mike Towne can speak to that.

It's too bad Mr. Towne didn't run this year. He would have had my vote as he did the last time he ran. Guy is very intelligent and uses his head which is more than I can say for the bozos we have in there now and their cheesy supporters like the moronic imbecile above.

Dan - who says you can't still vote for him?

If all the people that take this seriously, we should be able to get at least 25 votes for Mike on a write in.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe several hundred people voted for Mr. Tone the last time he ran for office. So I think your attempt at humor at his expense is disgusting and quite off the mark.

You are wrong idiot. He got less than 100. What planet are you from?

You're the idiot and just how many votes did you get? Your comments are disgusting and your obvious dislike for this person is wanton. Why don't you take yourself to some other blog and post your nonsense? We don't need people like you being a pain to all of us here with you hateful comments.

Does it matter to anyone but me just how many votes I got when I ran? The fact that I stepped up and threw my hat in the ring, put forth an effort and volunteered my time and money in an attempt to bring a transparency and openness to this town government and to implement changes that I felt that were right for the benefit of every citizen of Winchester, not just the privileged few, may not mean a thing to you; but to me it was worth the effort. That people went out of their way to talk about me in a negative way, though not many of you even know who I am, did not deter me from at least trying to make Winchester a better place for all. That I did not get elected doesn't bother me as much as seeing history continuing to repeat itself, over and over again. The fact that people have given up and won't come forward to implement change, though they will come on this blog and vent is the biggest disappointment. At the end of the day I can honestly say that I tried to make a difference. People in this town just aren't ready to commit to change and like sheep, follow those who block every attempt to make Winchester a vibrant and thriving town.
Maybe with what happened with the school board is a sign that people are finally getting the big picture and things will be different next year. We'll just have to wait and see.

How many votes did write in Jennifer Bellam get, there is nothing listed in regards to her numbers.

The problem new people running for election in this town is lack of exposure and misinformation pointed at them through smear campaigns by the town itself. Instead of promoting honest competition and seeking qualified people, those in power here seek to continue their stranglehold on all of us and use intimidation and fools to belittle those who do have the courage to run and have much to offer. New candidates like Mr. Towne, Jen Bellam, Art Charland and others did not get a fair shake; nor were they ever given an honest opportunity to present themselves to the voters.
As has been said in the past and is true today, this is a crooked little town, run by an unscrupulous few that will stoop to nothing to retain control of the purse strings and our children's futures. Until people realize what's actually going on here and get out to the poles and vote for new candidates as they did for the school, we're doomed to continue with high taxes, a lack of service and no respect from those in office.

Is this Iran or Winchester? What are you smokin? Not given an opportunity to express themselves and promote themselves as candidates? Freedom of the Press, Freedom to Gather, Freedom of Speech, ability to post signs and send letters etc. etc. etc... Don't give us the song and dance. The likes of those who have run and been defeated is evident the majority in town, like it or not, don't want the kinds that decided to run mostly based upon "I am against the present" without offering meaningful alternative for the future. You lost. Get over it. Stop complaining and support those that have been elected. Then you will see things change for the better in town.

First off I did not run for office have no desire to do so and become part of the mess this town is in. Secondly you must be smoking something if you think candidates get a fair shake in the town or an equal opportunity to connect with the people in town and express their views without having to take out expensive ads or write letters that never get published ( ask Jen ) Yes, this is Winchester, need I say more?

Mike did you go to Winchester schools? That first sentence of your post is a something to behold. I did not know you could get some many ramblings in one sentence. Kudos to you. You ended up with a lot more votes than Ms. Bellan.
