Is This Town Winchester Or Is it Really Beaman Town?

On Tuesday March 2, there was an editorial article written by Kathy
Beaman saying how terrific she thought Margaret Sharra was as Chair
of the Planning Board and what a great candidate she is.
l) Sharra is the worst possible candidate.  Why? she works for the
town and should not be on the all volunteer planning Bd.
2) Kathy UTTERLY Fails to mention that Sharra worked for
Beaman in Real Estate sales and Beaman Land and Home sales.
3) Sharra runs the rudest dysfunctional board meetings with
screaming, interruptions, and threats to call the police on at least
three occasions - two for Van Dyke and once for Dennis Whitcome.
4) Sharra made Peterborough attorney Silas Little wait for four and
1/2 hours over two meetings. Berthiaume did nothing and Sharra says
" I can call people when I want to." That cost the litigant 4 l/2 hours
plus two hours driving time due to the malicious conduct of Sharra.
5) Since Plum Pak came in, what manufacturing has come to town?
Sharra had nothing to do with Plifka's Dollar store or expanding
McDonalds. A firecracker store with three employees hardly fits
the need for jobs in Winchester.
6) Through her incompetence the planning Board has cost the town
over $22,000 in legal fees on Van Dyke that people that pay property
taxes have to pay.
7) She is incapable of running a calm, professional meeting and
calmly hearing both sides of an issue.
8) She refuses to RECUSE herself from Beaman matters
(also Deane Beaman) but stays at the table, directs the meeting,
calls on other planning Board members and asks questions of
witnesses.
9) She also takes the minutes - although they are not verbatim and
often slanted.  The minutes should be  taken by an elected member
of the planning Board and not the Chair.
l0) You need NEW BLOOD on the planning Board.
For two year term  Brian Moser has been a selectman and school
Board member.  He is very knowledgeable. For three year term,
WHY do you think 7 people are running?  Because they have
seen the rude obnoxious conduct of Sharra.  With simple verbal
acuity:  three people have talent, knowledge, and the most
important calm demeanor.  They are Kim Gordon who has been
an alternate the last two years,  Mike Towne who is the most
knowledgeable about planning Board matters, and Art Charland
who has the calm demeanor of  Bob Grey and although he has no
planning Board experience in Winchester he has experience in
Connecticut.
ll) Lastly, the Beaman letter in the Keene Sentinel shows that this
is still Beaman town And not  Earlington, Arlington or Winchester
predecessor names of Winchester).
12)) Let the Planning Board and the ZBA do things the right way,
no building without ALL the permits in hand and treat everybody
right down the middle with no absurd yelling and screaming and
conduct meetings in a calm and professional manner.
13) Under no circumstances should anyone vote for Margaret
Sharra. To cast your vote for her would be a disaster.

Never have I seen someone so elegantly paraphrase the truth and the facts about Ms. Sharra's actions over the past few years while presiding as chairperson of the planning board. No one person has changed the appearance of our town like Ms. Sharra has while in control of this spineless planning board we now have. Everyone on the planning board has been afraid of Ms. Sharra. This should change! We now have a Mack truck junk yard, once owned by the Beaman's, three race tracks, two developments that resembles a strip mining operation, an auto junk yard and a attempt to place a dump in our town. Ms. Sharra has allowed a racetrack in our aquifer without proper wet land permits or doing an impact study on how it would effect the neighbor's property values, while refusing to recuse herself on all Beaman matters, her employer. This can change by voting the old guard out and new people in.

Kathy Beaman has an obligation to mrs, Sharra. Even Mrs. Sharra knows if she wasn't in a postion to help her friends, they wouldn't give her the time of day. If i was going to vote for her the Beaman letter would have changed my mind.

STOP THE MADNESS said...

Too many things going on in this town all lead back to Margaret Sharra.Under her direction this year the board was sued at least 3 times maybe a 4th. The Van Dyke lawsuit started back in 2008 according to court documents and that was for good reason as it is now going before the State Supreme Court. The town has spent thousands and thousands of dollars because of her, how much longer can we tolerate this madness? It is long past time for her to go.

You gotta be kidding. Sharra is good for this town? NO WAY, she's the reason why there is no business here, why there are no jobs and why we have such a high tax rate. Kathy Beaman is just protecting her interests by saying what a great person Sharra is. Why without Sharra Beaman would have a hell of a time getting their supposedly "green" projects built on unbuildable land. Just like that Van Dyke guy who has been thrown out of every town around, why did he come here? Because anything goes with Sharra in control of the planning board. There's no rule or regulation she won't waive for any contractor or friend. For the good of the town vote her out now.

Research her connection to Clean Power and their entrepreneur buddies. She was actually hugging the head honcho of Clean Power at their last propoganda so called green energy presentation. As they put buy /sell agreements on land, etc who really profits from it all???? Not Winchester, we just get the health hazards of bio mass and the fall out when bio mass is not sustainable and the rich boys laugh their way to the banks .

It must be nice to have a former (?) employee and Dean on the board together to make sure Kathy gets her projects pushed through. Isn't this the real reason she supports and write all these nice things about Sharra. Too bad truthfulness is not a requirement for Sentinel articles.

Reader Opinion, Sentinel, Mar. 6th. Mrs Sharra comments were edited for length, must be the part where she cost us tons of money for legal fees.

Too bad her comments weren't edited for truth, then none nothing would have been printed and we wouldn't have been subjected to any more of her self promotion.

Nothing like beating your own drum and being very selective about what you want people to know. Why didn't she didn't she tell people that the sidewalk grant money will help her by giving her a selling point for her downtown condo project? That it was her in fact that researched and applied for this grant on our time while neglecting her duties in the Land Use office or that the park downtown is just a picnic area for the town employees to eat their lunches outside at our expense. Or that her unethical conduct on Planning Board matters this year has cost us taxpayers nearly $40,000 in legal expenses that will only continue to go up with her on the board? That there hasn't been any real business coming into this town since Plumb-Pak; because all of the ideal land for development along Route#10 has been turned into a race fans dream park with three outdoor tracks that pollute the area with noise and litter and excessive traffic on weekends ruining the ambiance and the tranquility of our backyards and neighborhoods. That people can not even enjoy the homes they purchased in town doesn't even concern those we have in power today, though they took an oath to us. Sharra also forgets to mention just how many people have lost their homes in wonderful Winchester and how many can not even afford to keep up with our high tax rate, like a certain Selectman and School official; or how the town has helped it's own time and time again by giving huge tax rebates to town and school employees while denying those same rebates to other citizens.

Yes, wonderful things are happening in Winchester; but not for everyone in town, only for those select few that are part of the inner circle that is actually destroying what little Winchester has left to offer for the rest of us.

Do not have the wool pulled over your eyes by this self promoting individual that is at the heart of many of our town's issues, she only cares about her self and the influential people she has helped over the years who are willing to write articles in the paper to see that their best interests continue to be taken care of. This woman is one of the main reasons we have no business here and why Winchester has become the stagnant shell of a once prospering town. Three hundred thousand dollar homes and large condominium developments are not going to do anything to improve out tax base or relieve the pressures on current homeowners.

Do not be fooled by the words you read, just look around and ask yourself, what's so wonderful?

Vote for change March 9th and be part of the solution; not part of the problem.

Let's see, we had the Marx brothers, Lewis and Martin, Abbott and Costello and now Beaman and Sharra. We sure have had our choice of comedians.

known them for years said...

I was thinking along the lines of dumb and dumber. One bends the truth and the other swears to it. If anyone thinks that either of these two care anything about the town or about anyone but themselves they are so out of touch it borders on lunacy.

The Sentinel didn't publish my comment towards Margaret's letter. I told her to take the Beamans with her when she leaves!!

Putting the nastys aside for a moment, although not a Beaman fan, he employed a lot of people for a lot of years and i give him a lot of credit for that.
