Winchester, Asphalt plant isn’t bad

Another "opinion" letter from someone who clearly doesn't have clue what he is talking about.

Asphalt plant isn’t bad

Now hear the truth about Westport folks!
All complaints about the asphalt plant being real bad are very false. And here is why: All of the other plants in the state are way out of date and very old; they don’t pass air quality standards at all. Plus the fact that all of those plants are at least 30 years old! This new plant is state of the art and has better emissions than your own car.
There are no bad smells or big dust clouds at all. Truck traffic on Route 10 will not stop and will continue to increase no matter what. I own a business that is 30 feet from Route 10 and there is no way to remove or stop dust from entering my building.
Now, the folks in Westport are at an advantage because they are thousands of feet away from Route 10. Now, Mr. Towne has only lived in this area three years and has no clue about birds or wildlife in this part of state and he should talk to N.H. Fish and Game. None of the claims being made about birds can be proven because that takes a very long time to do.
Now for the real punch: Just about all the residents in Westport village burn wood or fuel oil, which will pollute the air quality more than the asphalt would ever dream of. To add some more facts to the story, the owners of the plant have permits in place to mine minerals, crush stone, dynamite ledge, and possess all of that material, which will be taking place no matter what the asphalt does or does not do.
I, personally, feel that this is the greatest thing ever for the entire county and state of New Hampshire. We need more industry, revenue, jobs and so on.

They should ban this guy from ever putting anything in print, we all know just who and what he is. Can we all say puppet? Bet the Sentinel gets swamped with rebuttal letters to these asinine comments.

Fell off my chair laughing!

He didn't mention that the porch he built is illegally too close to that same said highway.

Guess someone is hoping to sell some paved commerical property!

Guess we all know who our Village Idiot is now.

This Guy gets it. Given the choice I would chose industry and tax revenue over listening to the lies from Mike, Mary and the gang. John p for selectman. He has my vote.

Another village idiot heard from. Tax revenues? How much revenue will be raised from that plant? Think it's going to offset the rebates the town will have to give for diminished property values due to smells and noise? You're big at calling people liars but offer no proof of your accusations and anyone who supports John Pasqarelli for anything is a bigger fool than most.

Truth from John P? You gotta be kidding me. The town's biggest liar claiming he knows the truth about anything? Give me a break, someone put this fool up to this.

I'm still trying to stop laughing over the fact that in John's world, asphalt plants can dream...

All this crap from someone who lives miles away, isn't affected by the stench or noise being generated hourly and hasn't a clue about regulations or the age of the plant or anything else. I don't know this individual so how he can speak for me and my many neighbors being affected is anyone's guess. As for his comments about Mr. Towne, don't know who is feeding him his information but Mr. Towne has been living here longer than 3 years and he raises birds and rehabilitates those he finds hurt or sick. I'd say he knows more than what this clown gives him credit for. Another thing for this jerk, I heat my home with oil as many of my neighbors do, while it's true some use wood or pellets as a secondary source, most of us heat with oil. As for this guy having permits to do all the things he's doing on that site, that statement is completely false, someone is full of crap if they believe that for one minute. That Winchester's code enforcement officer turns a blind eye and refuses to do his job is testament to just how crooked this whole thing is.

Perhaps it would have been wiser to keep your comments to yourself or to share them with people you consider your friends. After reading them and shaking my head several times at the ridiculous things you have said, I think the appropriate rebuttal, without getting personal is well stated in the quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln:

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Who is this person who calls our concerns lies, mocks us and spouts nonsense? Where is his proof of all of the false claims he makes? Guess they'll let anyone stand up on his little soapbox and tell tales that don't reflect the real story. Go away fool, your idiocy is showing !

See they didn't run that crap this weekend or work in the pit. Too much standing water is my guess, just wait until the real fall rains get here and the snow melt next spring, going to be a real mess down in the hollow they have dug. Hope it all sinks and gets buried in the shifting sands and pollutes the river, maybe then the people of Winchester will get smart and see how they have been backing idiots that give their town a bad name all over the state.

Is this that dirty looking skinny guy that went to the meetings and told everyone what a great thing this was going to be for everyone in Winchester, how it was going to provide a number of jobs for the town's unemployed? This guy must be on crack or something if he expects anyone to believe a damn thing he says. He's someone's lackey and from what I have been told this is typical of what you can expect from him.
