Winchester selectman resigns

WINCHESTER — The town's five-member board of selectmen is now down to four.
Kenneth S. Gardner resigned from the board June 11, two days before he sold his house on Adams Court.
Gardner, who was elected to the board in 2009, was in his second, three-year term. That term was set to expire in March 2015.
While Gardner will remain in the area, he plans to spend the winters in Florida, town officials and residents said.
Town Administrator Shelly Walker said Thursday selectmen are looking for residents interested in filling Gardner's seat until town elections in  March 2015. The board plans to address the matter after the July 4 holiday, she said.
Walker said anyone interested in serving on the board of selectmen can fill out a volunteer interest form either at town hall or from the town's website at www.winchester-nh.gov/pages/winchesternh_clerk/index.

Does anyone know what happened to the red truck that the road agent uses at his will, understand he messed up big time. If that's true I'm sure there has already been a cover-up.

Does anyone know if the chosen few get 10 hours pay for the 4th, or do they get another day off?

Sounds like there is an opportunity for everyone who has expressed their concerns on this blow to really make a difference. We will see how many of you sign up for the open spot.

Gray probably loaned it to Gardner to move his belongings to Fla. This town has a way of loaning out town equipment to the clique ....like the new fire truck to fill Barry Kellon's ex-sister-in-law swimming pool, ambulance to W. Virginia to transport Tedford's brother-in-law, town hwy truck make many trips to Home Depot for lumber for a garage, Leroy town car to Stoddard everyday. That is just some.

The new 4x4 police cruiser will be ready to trade by winter when we will need it the most. Its the way we roll in Winchester, not to worry, we will just get a new one.

We can see where the town truck was driven off the road into a ditch but everyone is hush hush. Where it is? It's like the missing IRS emails. "

If they could cover up the piney woods road hwy deal, this one should be easy.

Well...can't you just walk into town hall or the police department and ask about that red town truck that wound up in a ditch?
Police and insurance reports must have been filed and should be available to the public.
Someone should photograph swimming pools being filled and town cars being driven home and present them at a selectmen's meeting so they can be written into the minutes for all to enjoy.

Bob Davis took pictures of the racetrack people to the town hall of racers dumping gas, pressure the grease and oil off dirt bikes and crapping in the woods on our town conservation, water aquifer land they tried to have him arrested for trespassing.

Bloviator, You can just go to the Select board meeting on Wed at 7 and ask them, but I'm sure "We will take this under advisement" will be your answer.

Read today's Sentinel for a story about Alstead residents demanding cuts in town budget including letters to employees warning of lay offs and hiring a navigator to explore ELIMINATING health insurance and explain how to sign up for affordable care act.
Also: unauthorized use of town vehicles (fire truck, commuting) and town paid resources (water, fuel) is theft of services and grounds for dismissal.
