New selectman appointed in Winchester

WINCHESTER — The town's board of selectmen has returned to full strength following the appointment of a fifth member.
Board members unanimously named William McGrath to fill the seat held by Kenneth S. Gardner.
Gardner, who was in his second, three-year term, resigned from the board on June 11.
McGrath, who has served on the school and zoning boards, will serve out Gardner's term until elections in March 2015.
Besides, McGrath, Ken Berthiaume, Brian Moser and Steven Thompson also submitted volunteer interest forms for the position.

Ground Hog Day" in Winchester! Whether appointing or electing. The same ole, same ole people from the same ole inner circle. The phrase is in reference to an unpleasant situation that continually repeats, or seems to repeat itself over and over in Winchester. Are the selectmen telling us only 4 people in this town can we find to be qualified or are willing to do the selectmen job. What is McGrath agenda? Getting his needs to continue his development on Forest Lake. Which has has been disapproved several times now.

McGrath's agenda? He has the joy of having a platform to pontificate!

It won't be long before the rest of the board regrets having him there

As much as I do not like a lot of comments that are made on this site, I totally agree with the comments on Mr. McGrath..

I am interested in learning more about our "temporary" Selectmen. A few people have posted that he will be no good. Can you give us reasons for this? I would feel more comfortable knowing the entire story, other than someone just saying he is a Pompous ass or he likes to Pontificate. Please tell us exactly why we should worry about him and watch him closely. We should actually watch every single elected or appointed member closely anyways.
