Results were about what you would expect when half the voters are town employees, friends and family, and a big portion of the other half are on one entitlement or another.

Maybe you need to accept the fact your vocal minority does not represent the majority. The vote does not lie... unlike a lot of stuff you read on this blog.

A Member of The Majority Who Vote

one of the silent MAJORITY that did not vote ( sick ) said...

If you call 200+ voters the majority in Winchester then all I can say to you is that you're a bigger fool than your comments make you out to be.

a little over 400 people turning out to vote is by no means a majority. What a joke!

Actualy it was 500 but still a very low number

To the person with the small mind and the big mouth ( the second poster in line ) I personally challenge you to point out one lie, one false subject posted by these people running this blog that take crap from people like you. Go ahead, make my day, show us some proof of your accusations. Better yet, shut your yap and go bother someone else. You're a fine example of what is wrong in this town shooting your mouth off with no proof to back up anything you say. I see plenty of proof on this site, where's yours?

And you are unfortunate blabbers of hyperbole and BS, who refuse to realize that although you have a forum to throw it, you don't take it. Face the facts. You complainers and detractors lost convincingly again. If the people did not show up to throw them out of office, either they did not get your message, or they don't believe it and they are OK with the status quo. Obviously you don't like the status quo. Get over it. Get a job and save us the unemployment benefits. Stop complaining and do something for yourself and your families.

To another taxpayer.

Amusing.

You actually sound so angry and frustrated that people have a couple of forums in which to share ideas, present facts or read different opinions.

Why should anyone who dislikes the status quo, has a vision different to yours, wants to bring ethics, cooperation and fair play into Town Hall just settle for a corrupt and mismanaged Town Hall and have to “just get over it”?

In case you missed it, we live in a democracy.

Why would you even post that anyone should give up trying anything if at first they don’t succeed?

If at first you don’t succeed try, try again. Ever hear that one? It’s about persistence and how persistence pays off in the end.

Maybe you just feel the way you do in order to feel superior to your own cause and right now, your cause is being protected? OR, maybe it’s because the people you tag such a high value to can’t stand up to a little digging and a little (or big) light shining on them and you are afraid of that because if they fall, then you lose some cushy benefit.

Who knows and who really cares.

The rest of us don’t care if we hear other sides and other opinions so we can make up our own minds.

If court cases and on our town blogs, is just another way we can get facts out of Town Hall, so be it.

If you have nothing to hide, you should have nothing to care.

On the other hand, there are those who have nothing to hide and really do care.

The truth only hurts those that cover the truth up.

To the other tax payer -

We are not sure what you are refering to about "losing" - since most of the people we were supporting did make it into office. Mike was only one out of many. Just because Mike lost, doesn't mean that the bloggers didn't come out and vote and get others into office.

To poster Anonymous - A Member of the Majority Who Vote – So are you saying you are a member of the majority who vote, while the vocal minority is representative of the majority who don’t vote?

Great idea. A Get Out the Vote Campaign should begin immediately. A door to door campaign to register voters and get them to understand the need to get out and vote.

And to Anonymous – Another Tax payer – I dare say, are you asking people to give up their First Amendment Right to Free Speech, while you enjoy yours?

Maybe those blabbers of hyperbole and BS as you call it, post so people like you can read about how closer to collapsing the house of cards seems to be.

RE: The "Unoffical Results"..

Not a single "NO" to any of the articles. Unbelievable. Please people, how are we going to pay for all of this? A very scarey situation.

Exactly why it is so important for everyone to cast their votes, not doing so also affects everyone around you, one way or the other.
The burden of supporting all of these spending warrants now falls on those who can least afford it and are struggling just to pay their mortgages and put food on the table.

While other towns made the hard choices for the benefit of all by cutting spending, making employees pay more for their benefits and even laying off some and other measures to do away with waste, Winchester rolls on like the proverbial runaway train wreck.

Two recounts - Budge Committee & Thayer Library Trustees. This should be interesting!

The voters of Winchester must love throwing away there money. Looks like we are going for a 4 day work week with hwy again this summer. By the time they commute from the work sight and back for lunch the 1/2 hour turns into 2 too 2 1/2, on many days. By the time morning coffee is over and the extended lunch is done they need a ten hour day to get anything done. If hwy was a business, and it should be run as such, it would be bankrupt. Heck the cost of the lost uniforms are a drop in the bucket compared to what we waste on many days.Guess life go on, those of us that get to work on time and work 5, 6 and 7 days a week will have to wait until next year and hope someone with a head for business runs for office.
