Winchester Town Budget 2013-2014 BEFORE WARRANTS

This is the approved Town Budget for the year 2013 - 2014 BEFORE any more spending has been approved on all the Warrant Articles submitted by the Selectmen. Looks like many people are either going to have to find 2nd and 3rd jobs or another place to live other than Taxchester.

Well this was sobering news on a dreary day. $2k for exotic plants? You can't make this stuff up!

That's money was put in the budget by the whisker face plaid shirt friends of the wood land creatures and do not forget the fish now by Beaver Dam Gus to support his voter base that lives on the Forest Lakes. The Forest Lake Association has their own funds for the aquatic plants. Beaver Dam wants to wiper the Forest Lake Assoc. butts with your tax dollars.

I read in last nights paper where the Keene hospital laid of 34 nurses and cut over a million dollars from their operating budget, too bad the fools we have running this town didn't take a page out of their book and lay off some of the lazy employees we have here and save us some money instead of rewarding them with top of the line health care and more raises. We have a serious problem with responsibilities in this town.

copied and pasted from the keene sentinel from yesterday: where does it mention 34 nurses?

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene has eliminated 34 jobs in an effort to save about $1 million, officials announced Tuesday.

Twenty-two vacant jobs won’t be filled, and 13 people will be laid off. Five of those employees will be offered other jobs, officials said today. The positions were scattered throughout the hospital and clinic, and some were longtime employees, said Chief Financial Officer Jill I. Batty.

What difference does it make who got laid off? The point being made was that officials there acted in a fiscally responsible manner as hard as it was, to cut costs. Unlike the big spenders we have here who reward tardiness, incompetence and downright laziness at the expense of the people (us) who pay the bills. It's people like you who are the reason they are still in office as you look beyond the pig picture to nitpick someone who has voiced his or her concerns.

I read the sentinal on line and it said it WAS cutting 34 positions. you really want to split hairs?

are you kidding me said...

Are you kidding me $352,500 plus for health insurance for about 25 individuals? What the hell kind of insurance do they have that costs so much? What are we paying for, every single family member and their pets too? THATS OUTRAGEOUS!! Just how much do they contribute to this fund?

Why Bother said...

Why Bother!!! I understand at deliberative session you didn't have problem finding a seat. Deliberative Session is where the change are made, at the polls it is to late. I knew there wouldn't be enough people in town that would give a rat-ass enough about their tax bills. For the Frig'n people in this town there is no hope for them. Stupid is as stupid does. Good Luck
