Town of Winchester has a new meaning for BLACK FRIDAY, it called your property tax bill with a giant increase. This means a monthly increase your mortgage payment. I can afford it. Can you? What a kick-in-the-ass Xmas gift. I hope the people that are struggling to make their mortgage payment increase who last year voted yes on every warrant article gets it stuffed right up their Ying Yang and (it's not a river in China). The people that called Brian Moser & Bob Davis names when they fought to make a difference on your tax bill, I'll bet they are having a good last laugh at how foolish you people can be.

I would personally like to thank all of the brainless morons in this town for voting yes on every single warrant spending article attached to our ballot this past March. Your stupidity has allowed our select boobs to take more money from us under the guise of fiscal responsibility to run this dead town. Because of your asinine stupidity my taxes rose over $700 for the second time in 3 years. Seeing as how they don't make business scofflaws in this town pay their taxes or town employees for that matter, it's up to us to make up the difference and too many of us are losing our homes trying to do so. This year I will join the ranks of those who don't pay their property taxes and just pay the interest in protest to this foolishness that has gone on too long.I will become part of the inner circle of town employees and their friends and relatives who have been doing just this for years. Check the tax kiosk for the names of people who have been screwing the rest of us and being allowed to get away with it because they support and keep these few in power. I expect there will be another mass exodus in the near future further thinning the voter rolls and diminishing the tax base; but who cares, we'll just keep raising taxes to make up the difference because what we have left are idiots, sheep who blindly follow the morons they elect.

I bet there are a few family's in Winchester with the tax bill, the Christmas list and the grocery list on there kitchen table, wondering how they are going to make it work. Not that the chosen few in the town hall give a shit, maybe some of us can get a third job and survive.

A tax bill like this and a new 4x4 police cruiser, man this town is rock'n.

Nice posting anonymous, I know some of us feel real saddened for citizens like yourself. But! Do you think for one minute there is an once of passion from guys like Ken Gardner who thinks he is above us all with his big union pension or Sherman Tedford large policeman state pension or Gus Ruth with his giant pension from the airlines or Chaney Stephens the paid lobbyist for Monadnock Speedway who owes over $34,000 in unpaid property taxes.

Not once did I hear one word at any budget committee meetings from those elected officials who are sworn to protect all the people’s rights not just their friends and cronies from the plight of these families about to loose or have lost their homes to foreclosure. Is there anyone out there mad enough or outraged enough to recall these self-interest bastards. No! I guess not yet! Wait! Let's continue down this road a little longer till enough people are mad enough, loose their homes just may take a few more years of 10% tax increases. As we wait maybe if there is anyone left standing then people will get off their dead brain asses qnd wake up.

17 or 18 more families about are about to get foreclosed upon.

The greedy self serving people that we entrusted to run this town will not be satisfied until more homes are foreclosed on due to the high tax rates and the town is renamed "potter's field".

A town where businesses are discouraged by the land use dept and planning boards. We will always be a sorry-a$$ town as long as we have people like Margaret Sharra working against the people at the town hall to favor the clique. Yes! Sharra is not the only person and not the only reason are tax rate is so high but since the last past 10 years Sharra has worked the planning board and land use we have attracted the most undesirable businesses that no sane town would allow. Look around! Junk yards, gravel pits, racetracks Not one has gives the tax payers enough tax base to off set the devaluation of other people's property they have cause.

We go through this every year when the tax bills come out. I am sick and tired of "oh poor me" you go vote for all of this. Suck is up and put on your big girl panties you must like it as you keep voting for all of the money!

A town where the voting majority consists of friends and family of town employees, town employees, and the indigent. There's no chance for the ordinary citizen around here. FYI I love driving to Hinsdale, I like to see Tractor Supply, Walmart, and another new building going up on Rte 119. Must be nice to attract new businesses and not be caught up in court for years.

Why our taxes are high? With the town employees "we want the biggest, the bestest and the moistest from the tax payers it's all about me me me I I I with the Assholiness Selectmen rubber stamping everything they ask for.

Maybe just before a person votes we could give the brainack voters we have in town a little quiz, like how many finger do you see and spell dog. Then we wouldn't end up with a stupid, the laughing stock of the area tar sidewalk to nowhere called the Michael Martin Memorial Bridge. I have yet to see anyone else use it.

I vote ,why don't you? said...

The same old story. The same people holding the same positions of power in town, same people complaining their taxes have gone up, same election results, same few at deliberative .. what is it about all of this that you complainers don't get? You want lower taxes, then here's what you do. Get off your lazy bottoms, go to deliberative and make your voices heard. Then you get up off those lazy bottoms again and go vote. You vote for people not in the clique, new faces with new ideas and most importantly you vote NO on every new spending warrant on the ballot. It is just that simple.
