Having a difficult time reading the last few posts; these copies won't enlarge the way that they usually do. They do come up full-sized on the town website, however, for anyone who cares to read them. Interesting to see how the Select Board is spending our money - fees to join buying programs, etc. At least they opted for least costly bid on uniform services.
Thanks, Informer, for posting the news.

Apologize for not posting instructions earlier. Seems each time the town finally gets around to posting information on the town's website after several careful edits the format is changed in an attempt I would surmise to prevent people from reading here.

Maybe we can all expect an update to the rest of the boards and committees meetings that are months behind in sharing with those citizens who just can't run downtown to read the bulletin boards. Then again, don't hold your breath .. RSA 91-A doesn't hold much water in Winchester where "secrecy" manipulation and arrogance rule the day.

"All power residing originally in, and being derived from, the people, all the magistrates and officers of government are their substitutes and agents and at all times accountable to them. "

Government, therefore, should be open, accessible, accountable and responsive. To that end, the public’s right of access to governmental proceedings and records shall not be unreasonably restricted. If they had nothing to hide then they wouldn't go to such great lengths to delay public information for months at a time.

The BOS chair stated she didn't like seeing Winchester's dirty laundry being aired on social media, meaning this blog no doubt. Well my question to her would be; if things in this town were done on the up and up with a nod towards transparency and accountability to those of us who have put our faith and trust in our public officials, would there be any dirty laundry to be aired? Food for thought, Roberta.

Imagine admitting to DIRTY LAUNDRY, WOW that's got to tell you something. When does the new $140K water and sewer truck hit town, guess we can always up the rates.

Well, I can say that the Roads Dept. must be doing better with transparency. They had a sign up at Elm St. the other day. It said "Men and Equipment in Road" - and they were correct - there were men and trucks in the road. At least they didn't fib by having the sign say "Men Working" (as a couple of them just stood there with arms folded across their bellies while a few others actually did the work).

Oh the stories that could be posted here and the "dirty laundry" that could and probably should be brought to light would fill pages and pages of blog. There are so many dirty "little" secrets floating around this town that some, if exposed for what they have perpetrated over the years, would be guests at our new county jail. I won't mention any names just yet, I'll have to gather my "facts" before I post again so I can provide proof to the Informer of my words. Stay tuned folks, it's going to get very "real" very soon. It's about time someone besides the person running this blog stepped up to the plate and took a hefty swing!

Spoke with several boards who all said they provide signed copies to the town hall of the minutes of their meetings.......... sometimes two and three times and yet they are months behind in making them available. With Shelley gone, things can only get worse. Thanks Informer for keeping us informed.

how about it? said...

Maybe those boards should send a copy of the minutes to the Informer to be sure we get to see them in a timely manner?

With Shelly gone where, vacation, new job?

Hell, if you need updates you can probably get them from a selectman in the Diner in the morning.

Effective last night at the weekly BOS meeting, Shelley Walker turned in her resignation as Town Administrator .. Oh crap, more dirty laundry. Is our dear Margaret looking to fill another position?

Shelley was suspended first. She tendered her resignation in a letter at the BOS meeting last night. NOONE is talking. I sure hope she is not taking a fall for someone else. She was asked to do a LOT. She was always great to me when I was in the town hall. Roberta and Margaret appear to be covering for her.

Speaking of Dirty Laundry, are we going to put a stop to dept. heads keeping all jobs at $2999. so they don't have to go out for bids? The buddy system should be saved for the town beach.

They get what they pay for when they hire their own cronies . Isn't it one of their buddies who built the A-1 building that is still in limbo?????
