WINCHESTER — Police
are asking for the public's help in tracking down the person or persons
who shot out several windows in town over the weekend.
Winchester Police
Chief Gary A. Phillips said Monday the vandalism affected two businesses
on Main Street, a house on Keene Road, and a car parked at a residence
on Forest Lake Road.
In addition, a man driving on
Richmond Road past the sand pits at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday reported
hearing gun shots, Phillips said.
The man continued driving, and
when he arrived home, he noticed a tire on the trailer he was hauling
was flat, Phillips said. The man told police he believed the tire was
shot out, Phillips said.
The other four incidents took
place sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday night and early Sunday morning,
he said, and likely involved someone driving by with a pellet gun.
The damage included the glass
door to the mini-mart at 104 Main St., four windows of the New England
Sweetwater Farm & Distillery building at 136 Main St., the back
window of a Subaru, and three windows of a Keene Road home being
shattered, he said.
Winchester police are investigating the crimes, but have limited information, Phillips said.

Strange silence on the page.................. on the Informer End or silence on the part of posters on this matter that would seem to be an event that would trigger a lot of comments. That and what is going on at Town Hall. Suddenly the Informer page is mute??????
