OK Dale, where the heck did that money that's unaccounted for go and why are you $13,000 over budget AGAIN? That's $20,000 dollars you owe us taxpayers !
How is the road superintendent going to get his bonus if the Cargill contract isn't sign for the full amount. How stupid are the selectmen to cut him short. How stupid are you people to vote these people in office.
What the Acorn Drive Road is falling apart? What it was only built 8 years ago. Shouldn’t roads last longer than that? Sorry it was Earl Beaman making bucks…..As Earl Beaman put the road in half-ass, cut corners and didn’t put the cul-de-sac at the end for the fire dept. as he agree as part of the plan for fire safety.
You people act like your surprised at these actions, you voted these people in office.
Who has started the petition to have the road agent a voted position? We need to do this now! How much more moeny is Dale going to cost us especially since he has time to smooch with Roberta on our dime?
Voting for a road agent is stupid, you end up with someone popular but no experiance with the road department. The agent should always be somebody who has worked their way up through the department. Knowladge is everything for this job. Just think about some of the Jackasses we have in town who are popular but not a clue about the road dept.
Smooch with Roberta what about the fact a lot of our tax dollars was spent on the Scofield Mt Road, Dale's other squeese's road. Now he wants to spend more money on the Bolton Road area the same road home for this old gale friend. Isn't there anyone who will go to bed with Dale over by my house so I can get my road fixed?
Vote for the road agent? Look at the "popular" idiots people voted in on our boards! Almost every board is dysfunctional and this is how you want the road agent to be?
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be a road agent, but with the amount of money that we go through, it should be someone with fiscal responsibility. Voting for a road agent should work, but this is Winchester.
Has anyone seen the upper end, north, of the Old Chesterfield Rd. lately? Deplorable. Missing pavement, holes, ruts, etc. Whatever happened to returning a bit of unspent budget $ back to the general fund to defray taxes? No, every last cent, and then some has to be spent. Why?
People have tried to place petitions on the warrants to elect the road agent but could not get them pass deliberative session. Not enough dumb-asses can take the time to set their beer can or their joints down, get off their asses to go down to the town hall for deliberative session. This will never change!
As far as having experience or qualifications to run the highway dept, Dale mowed lawns and shoveled snow at Mt Herman before getting fired, he had no experience before, then his pal Jim Harrison got him the supervisor of highway dept job with Winchester. The tax payers give him almost $60,000 including benefits plus perks for someone without a degree or experience.

I am part of a group of Winchester citizens completely opposed to dirty and hazardous businesses, like asphalt and wood burning plants wanting to come into town at the expense of our quality of life. I am concerned about preserving the rural character of Winchester. These types of development have no benefits for Winchester citizens and they create many health hazards and will cause the destruction of green space. Our Winchester is known for its precious natural resources; dramatic rocky slopes, unique wetlands and abundant wildlife. I feel there are many questions concerning these proposed projects that outweigh any benefits. The increase in traffic along existing streets and noise and air pollution would be very significant. I am also concerned that the town infrastructure cannot cope with the problems these types of businesses will demand. Furthermore, I am very discouraged with the Planning Board and Zoning Boards and feel they have been negligent in their duties to protect neighboring residents from health hazards and safety issues that will surely arise and affect the lives and livelihoods of many citizens.

Dale is ALWAYS over budget. The BOS have been shuffling funds for his department every year.
Why should he suddenly start being accountable for his over spending?
The BOS typcially find the funds in the WATER department - keep in mind that this is the one department that is fiscally responsible.
Finding funds in the water dept. is not an option when they just up ed the water and sewer rates.
