All I can say is I'm not voting for Kevin Whippie for School Board. I heard he wanted to increase the buget which of coarse increases taxes. My wallet can't take much more.
You should have seen him and Coleen Duquette last night at the School deliberative session. They were like Barbie and Ken and showed us all there is no doubt that democracy in Winchester is dead. Thanks to these two self-centered individuals our school budget will be well over 10 million, that's right folks, 10 million and our children can't even pass simple evaluation tests. Is it any wonder why we lost accreditation? Same people, same results, same poor scores that now cost us so much more. Vote NO when you go to the polls on their request for more money, demand results for our kids. As for Whippie, he's just another mindless puppet just doing what he's told. Definitely not smarter than a 5th grader and doesn't belong on the ballot never mind the School Board. It's time to break the straggle hold these arrogant people have on this town and send a message to their supporters too. NO MORE!!!!!!
If they keep having problems at VT Yankee he may be looking for work, bet that would bring a change of attitude. We are not even thinking of the fixed income, out of work, and people on short hours. Ask the guys in the service vans at Bob Fuel how they pan to pay there taxes on short hours. When you run into someone with a business in Winchester ask then how there doing.
It is time for a real organized tax payers association to be formed, that can get the job done. There are people that need tax relief in this town, and it will help. The school lobby is well protected , as most of their tactics and policies come through full time employees and administrators that work through unions and other advocates. The legislatvie body no longer belongs to the non governmental voters. These are the same people that are running Washington. Fight fire with fire and organize.
Doesn't he live at home with his parents? Maybe because he's such a failure that he can't afford his own place? Maybe that tritium leak over at the plant has seeped into his minuscule mind and is the reason he acts the way he does, then again maybe not and he's just a wanna be trying to be something he's not. In any case, he's a sad little man helping others make our lives miserable all in the name of greed.
As for Colleen Duquette, we all know her story, greed and power are her most defining features. The woman is one of the main reasons our education costs in Winchester are so high. Ask her how many special needs students she has placed in our town driving up costs for all of us, while she benefits with raises and bonuses for her fine work.
Vote NO on any more increases in the school budget. Don't be fooled by crocodile tears and the acting of someone who only had her best interest at heart, what transpired Thursday night was a travesty of bloated egos and a screwing of every citizen in Winchester. Patricia Castle's performance was pure theatrics, nothing more.
There is a disproportionate rate of teachers and teacher's aides to student in our schools and yet our children are flunking and have become an unwanted group, throwing more money into the mix isn't going to solve our educational problems, the problems go deeper than that. It's too bad those who are teaching our kids can't read or do the math and haven't the intelligence to see their one-sided actions have dire consequences for us all. How else to explain their ignorance of how a democracy works?
The dog and pony show must stop now, it's costing us all too much and not helping our children's future one bit.
There are not enough adjectives to describe the deplorable conduct that I witnessed Thursday night. The fiasco that transpired was nothing short of criminal and perhaps it was just that. Demanding more money from cash strapped families and using our children's future as an excuse for such deplorable behavior was tantamount to larceny by these few people who think that their way is the only way. Well it sure shows just how misguided and mistaken they are when our children, despite what their educators say about more money will solve all of the problems, can't pass a simple performance evaluation test. If spending millions on education and still demanding more at every turn is the way to go, ask yourselves why is it that so many of these board members and educators send their children to private schools? Is it because they know, despite all of the money being spent, that public education in Winchester is costing our children their futures? I saw nothing at Thursday's meeting to convince me that these people have a clue.
I don't know about the rest of you but I am voting for new faces. I have had enough of this bunch we have in there now that has done nothing to ease our taxes or stop the exodus of families leaving town. Where is the business that we so desperately need to sustain this town? Where are the jobs? Fancy parks on main street, turning off street lights and purchasing new toys for Dale and Chief Phillips don't pay the bills or help us keep our homes. It's time to vote in people who will work with us to improve the quality of life for everyone and not take everything under advisement. Actions speak louder than words and the words I hear from these fools in office are hollow promises and just more of the same. Enough.
We need to freeze SPENDING...along with the full time hiring which our BOS passed this past Wednesday.
We are out of money, the town is living beyond it's means, and it's time to show some Yankee backbone and vote these clowns out! New faces, new ideas, and fiscal responsibility are what we need. It's time to regroup. We need to start locally, with our town, in March, then move statewide in November. Enough already!
Can you imagine a guy that thinks he is so much smarter than the rest of the world that he would cost us $280,000 without ever talking to or going to a budget meeting? Its not a hard sell when most of the people in the room work there. If this guy is running for anything, keep him running.
Give careful consideration to your votes for select board; let's not get trapped by an enduring "Blue Wall".
